Jenkins (YFS Jenkins)

Jenkins was my second horse, but the first one who truly introduced me to the world of competition. A reliable and good‑natured young horse, he became the foundation of my early eventing journey and taught me what it really means to ride, train, and care for a competition horse.

With his kind heart and steady temperament, Jenkins gave me the confidence to learn, make mistakes, and grow. He was the horse who showed me how to prepare for events, how to manage a horse’s fitness and training, and how to build a partnership based on trust. Despite being young, he carried himself with maturity and always tried his best — a genuine teammate in every sense.

Jenkins had a gentle personality, a soft eye, and a naturally generous way of going. He loved his work, loved being part of the action, and — more than anything — he loved his food. Whether it was a feed bucket, a treat, or a stray blade of grass, Jenkins approached life with enthusiasm and a full heart.

He may not have been the flashiest or the most powerful horse in the yard, but he was one of the most important. Jenkins gave me the foundation I needed to progress, and he will always be remembered as the horse who started it all.
